The Green Infrastructure Leadership Exchange (“the Exchange”) – a project of the Global Philanthropy Partnership – is a high functioning, highly connected member-led peer-to-peer learning practitioner network that offers a platform for communities to share experiences, circulate ideas, and solve problems together toward finding more sustainable water infrastructure solutions.
To accelerate the adoption of green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) solutions through the creation of a practical playbook that any community can use to implement green stormwater infrastructure affordably and equitably across North America.
To transform stormwater infrastructure toward more climate-resilient solutions in order to better serve communities and public health.
Connection, Inspiration, Collaboration, Leadership, Community, Innovation.
Our story started in 2015 with an informal convening of municipal leaders in Philadelphia to discuss the challenges of implementing green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) where participants noted the unique value of connecting, sharing resources, and learning from and with peers.
Today, we have over 60 member organizations, including utilities, municipalities, cities and counties who are implementing infrastructure at scale and individual members are typically managers of each organization’s GSI program. Click here to view our full member list.
The GI Exchange is member-led: our activities and focus areas are defined according to member interests, needs, and priorities. We focus on quality connections to create the conditions for collaboration, trust, and engaged leadership among our members. We believe that collective learning and peer-to-peer exchange lead to innovation in the field.
