Educational programming at the Exchange just got even better!
The Exchange has been coordinating with several accrediting bodies to become an approved education provider for GSI professionals seeking to earn CEUs (Continuing Education Units).
What this means for our members
You’ll now notice that many of our upcoming education events are “CEU-eligible,” meaning that you can earn a Certificate of Completion that will be recognized by CEU-granting organizations such as:
- LA CES (Landscape Architect Continuing Education System), which is the professional program of ASLA (American Society of Landscape Architects)
- AICP (American Institute of Certified Planners), which is the professional institute of APA (American Planning Association)
- NGICP (National Green Infrastructure Certification Program), which is part of ECI (Envirocert International Inc.)
- And many other “self-report” organizations across the U.S. and Canada, including CSLA (Canadian Society of Landscape Architects) and a wide range of professional organizations for engineers.
What to do next
When you register for an Exchange event that is flagged as CEU-eligible, we’ll ask whether you’re interested in pursuing CEU credit for your participation. If so, you’ll receive an electronic form after the event with a few questions that pertain to the desired learning outcomes. Submit your responses to earn a Certificate of Completion, which you can then submit to the CEU-granting organization who maintains your license/certification.

Why CEUs Matter
CEUs are critical to the sustainability of our organization for at least two key reasons:
- Member Value –Each month, our members have opportunities to learn from other GSI colleagues while earning CEUs to maintain their licenses and continue growing in their professions. In this way, CEU-eligible programming can promote member retention and attract new members.
- Thought Leadership – Through offering high-quality, outcome-based educational programming, we are able to demonstrate the Exchange is a leading source of industry knowledge and GSI best practices.
