Peer Learning & Education Programs
Join the Exchange’s dynamic peer learning community focused on green stormwater infrastructure. Engage in collaborative knowledge-sharing to elevate your understanding, shape the future and make a positive impact on the environment and your community.
About Education Programming
Peer learning is where practitioners learn together as a community of practice. Peer learning is part of the Green Infrastructure Leadership Exchange’s theory of change to support innovation and leadership in Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) practices.
Outside of scheduled peer learning, members often collaborate on projects that advance their GSI practices. These projects have produced a variety of guides available on the Exchange’s Resources Page. The Exchange can also deliver custom learning circles and trainings, which are described below.
The Community Platform for members allows them to view the community calendar of events, join events, post discussions before/after, share resources, and network with GSI practitioners throughout the US and Canada.

Custom Programs
The Exchange can deliver custom GSI programming and trainings.
Facilitated Virtual Learning Circles: A custom series of learning circles with expert presentations, round robins and discussions. The 2024-2025 Rouge Watershed Learning Circle was a custom Learning Circle for GSI practitioners in the metro Detroit, Michigan region.
GSI and Equity Course: Organized around the Exchange’s seven Equity Goals featured in the Equity Guide for Green Stormwater Infrastructure Practitioners and four types of equity common in GSI settings (i.e., identity, power, process, spatial). The training pays particular attention to two of the Equity Goals: Internal Readiness and Centering Community while providing opportunities to engage with the other goals. The training design includes two major components. The first half focuses on building culture and skills, with particular attention to knowledge of the prioritized Equity Goals. The second half broadens the scope to all seven Equity Goals and allows participants to work on an applied project of interest through peer-to-peer activities.
Training Logistics: Trainings can be delivered online or in person and with the support of Exchange staff and experienced GSI practitioners. Trainings are customized to meet the content and schedule needs of the organization (e.g, a concentrated two-day in-person training or a multi-month online engagement).
Custom Programs Estimated Cost:
