The Exchange is proud to spotlight newest southeast member, the City of Boynton Beach, FL!  Alannah Irwin is the Sustainability & Resiliency Administrator and oversees the planning, coordination, and implementation of initiatives that promote environmental sustainability and community resilience.This role includes maintaining greenhouse gas emissions inventories, advancing water and energy conservation programs, developing policies, and integrating sustainability into citywide planning efforts. Currently, the City is exploring GSI solutions, with plans to pilot permeable pavement and rain gardens to demonstrate the viability of green stormwater management. Additionally, a comprehensive tree canopy study will be launched to develop a citywide heat resilience plan, indirectly supporting stormwater management. Looking ahead, the City aims to integrate GSI features such as rain gardens, bioswales, and living shorelines into existing infrastructure to improve water quality and flood resilience. Collaborating with organizations like the Green Infrastructure Leadership Exchange will play a key role in advancing these sustainable solutions.
