Located in the northwestern part of the San Francisco Bay Area, Marin County is home to 262,231 people. Geographically, the county forms a large, southward-facing peninsula, with the Pacific Ocean to the west, San Pablo Bay, and San Francisco Bay to the east, and – across the Golden Gate – the city of San Francisco to the south. Marin County’s northern border is with Sonoma County.
The Marin Countywide Stormwater Pollution Prevention Program has been assisting the County’s 11 cities and towns to protect water quality since 1993. The program provides resources for businesses, residents, contractors, developers, creek projects and permitting, students and teachers, and more! It also provides interactive training for contractors, developers, and county and municipal staff.
